SHOWCASE Theatre Festival, in it's 4th season, is the North Island's only professional theatre company - operating in Cumberland, Courtenay and Campbell River.
* Our season opens during Miner's Week June 27th in Cumberland, BC with the World Premiere of "Dancing In The Coal Dust" a new musical, written by David Warrack (our Music Director) directed and choreographed by Jeff Hyslop our founding Artistic Director
.
* Coal Dust will be performed in repertory with Thornton Wilder's "Our Town" and "Hello Dolly". The season opens June 25th, and runs in Cumberland until July 20th, then moves to Campbell River until July 27th.
* Performances will be held in our own Showcase Theatre - an "Arabesque" tent with supporting facilities in "Festival Village" in the heart of Cumberland, BC.
* In addition Showcase is offering a visual arts program under the direction of Brian Scott.
"Artists Walk" will involve 12 artists in various historical locations painting and inter-acting with the public. Artworks will be displayed in the Showcase Gallery and be on sale to the general public.
* "Sunday Music" Chamber music recitals will begin Sunday, June 29th in area churches, and involve local and Island professional and community musicians in concert.
* The season will run until July 20th in Cumberland, and then move to Campbell River for further performances in the Tidemark Theatre until July 27th.

* Showcase box office opens for single ticket sales in April 2008
