BCGEU
The British Columbia Government and Service Employees’ Union is a proud contributor to the labour history of our province.

The BCGEU Area 02 Cross Component Committee hosts the Miners’ Memorial Pancake Breakfast each year at the Cumberland Cultural Centre (Sat. June 28, 2008, 8am-11am, by donation). This is a fundraising event for the Cumberland Museum.

We invite our union members and the public to join us in supporting the museum and attending annual Miners’ Memorial Weekend events.

Our Administrative Services Component is pleased to be a sponsor of the Cumberland Museum website.

BCGEU members who provide administrative and support services work in all government ministries, and for many private employers who hold government contracts. Click HERE for more information.

The BCGEU represents approximately 60,000 women and men. Our union traces its beginnings back to the early 1900s when provincial government employees formed an association to address their working conditions. Since then, the union has also organized tens of thousands of workers outside the government service.
